Impressionistic post-punk of Detroit quartet Protomartyr heads to Prague after nine years

Since their 2012 debut No Passion All Technique, Protomartyr have mastered the art of evoking place: the harshmodesty of the Midwest, as well as the X-Rayed elucidation of America that comes with their vantage. Protomartyr — vocalist Joe Casey, guitarist Greg Ahee, drummer Alex Leonard, and bassist Scott Davidson — have, over their sixteen years of existence, become synonymous with caustic, impressionistic assemblages of politics and poetry, the literal and oblique.

Following their most recent record to date, 2023's Formal Growth in the Desert, Protomartyr return with a brand new album and a European tour set for early 2027, with a stop at Prague's MeetFactory on February 28.
