Where the indie heads at? The next in the series of MeetFactory’s summer concerts will bring two fresh local projects – Joshua Curran & curtains please –  to the Factory's backyard outdoor stage on Tuesday, August 11.

Joshua Curran, an emerging singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist with Czech-Irish roots, draws inspiration from the indie-rock icons of the past decade(s). The influence of bands like The Kooks, Inhaler, and Arctic Monkeys is clearly evident in his first few singles, such as Star Tonight and Ninety Five, but with his full-length albums Can We Still Dance and Anyway, Curran begins to discover his own, singular experimental guitar style. At the MeetFactory backyard, he'll present, among other music, an exclusive selection of unreleased material.

curtains please are a brand new addition to the local alternative scene. The Prague-based duo record music in their basement studio, from where they have released two singles into the world so far: Rain for you and Hearts of steel. The sound of this year's winners of Radio Wave's Startér is defined by introspective, melancholic songwriting, which they project into a diverse range of genres. As the magazine Headliner puts it: “They're two guys. They have guitars. And they're not afraid to use them.”
